Use the guide without becoming the product.
This policy names the limited information RetiredWiki handles, why it is needed, and when it is removed. Last updated July 18, 2026.
Information that stays on your device
Saved guides, recently viewed guides, private notes, checklist progress, planning-tool entries, theme, and text-size preferences are stored in your browser. RetiredWiki does not receive those values. They can be exported or cleared from My guide. Browser or device settings can block storage, and clearing site data removes it.
Do not put passwords, account numbers, medical records, full legal identifiers, or other sensitive information into notes or planning tools, especially on a shared device.
What this deployment collects
Optional server-side collection is disabled until this deployment confirms that its privacy-limited database is available.
Aggregate site measurements
When the optional editorial database is available, RetiredWiki records small aggregate counters such as a page path, whether search was used, whether a guide was saved, and whether a tool was completed. These events do not include note text, planner values, search text, names, emails, or a cross-site advertising identifier. Daily aggregate counters are retained for up to 25 months so editors can compare seasonal use and then are deleted automatically.
Feedback and editorial contributions
When those forms are enabled, article usefulness votes may include an optional comment. Editorial submissions contain the message you choose to send, the related guide, and an optional email. An email is accepted only when you check the follow-up consent box. Submissions are reviewed by editors and are never published automatically. Forms remain disabled unless durable storage is confirmed.
Resolved or declined submissions and article feedback are retained for up to 24 months for correction history, moderation quality, and abuse review, then deleted unless a longer record is required to document a published correction. Aggregate counts may remain after the underlying message is removed.
Abuse prevention and service logs
Enabled public forms use short-lived rate-limit counters derived from a keyed, one-way digest of network information. Browser details and raw IP addresses are not stored in the RetiredWiki database, and expired counters are removed automatically. The hosting provider may process ordinary security and access logs under its own limited operational controls.
Read-aloud and external sources
The Listen feature uses your browser's Web Speech capability. Voice processing may occur on your device or through a service selected by your browser or operating system. Following a source link takes you to another organization with its own privacy practices.
Request access or deletion
Most RetiredWiki data cannot be tied back to a person. If the contribution form is enabled and you supplied an email with consent, use that form, choose “Correction or source,” provide the same email with consent, and request access to or deletion of the submission. If the form is disabled, this deployment did not accept or store a submission. Device-only data can be cleared from My guide. Do not include unrelated sensitive information.
Changes to this policy
Material changes are dated and summarized in site updates. RetiredWiki does not sell personal information, run behavioral advertising, or require an account.
